exercise 1

Filming transparency
Observe, then record instances of transparency as you experience in your surroundings.

Surroundings, in the context of this exercise, can be built or natural, and in all scales, from objects in your hand to the horizon. What is understood by transparency is your call. Still, you are encouraged to consider notions such as multisensory, spatial, gradient, rhythm, behind, through. Your method of documentation is video recording. You are expected to produce three videos of 5-10 seconds each. Make the most of the medium and try to capture the temporal aspect of the experience. Framing the spatiality is equally important.

Ensure that we have your email address at the end of the first class and that you become a member of our blog. You are expected to upload your videos on this page by Thursday morning. Our discussions that day will be on defining transparency.
